Hi peeps
So Google’s annual dev conference (I/O) has recently happened, so I took some of the most interesting updates for this week’s podcast.
But for a summary, they’re pushing a lot of AI stuff, including ‘Flow’, a new AI video editor and a $250 USD AI plan (yes insane money).
In other news, I go over some tariff things - yes, Trump is forcing more tariffs on different businesses again.

Richard’s Thoughts This Week: My thoughts on AI in general
So I’ve been talking a lot about AI in the last few editions, and I’ve been talking about it a lot with friends, many with engineering backgrounds.
From what I can hear in the market, it seems like many are trying to work alongside it instead of pushing it away.
Just a few years ago, many were skeptical, whilst now, many of my engineering friends are really embracing it and are really seeing that it will be the reality of the future. With how fast it’s progressing, one of my engineering friends (who is quite senior) believes it will replace junior programmers completely.
I’ve also seen it impact other areas outside of engineering. I’ve seen a colleague in marketing automation being replaced by AI recently as well at a fairly well-known tech brand.
My opinion - future-proof yourself. Get AI ready and learn to work alongside it. What do you think?
Thanks again,
Richard
